Judy Hayward (BA, LLB, GDipEd) is the Principal of Hayward & Co. Lawyers, Wills & Estates Australia.
Judy is a Queensland Law Society Accredited Succession Law Specialist (2003) and a solicitor of the High Court of Australia, Qld Supreme Court and NSW Supreme Court (1999). Of the more than 9,529 members of the Queensland Law Society only 44 members are accredited succession law specialists.
Judy was listed by Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Wills & Estates Litigation Lawyer in Queensland in 2015 and 2016.
Judy regularly presents seminars for legal practitioners and public information sessions for clients and other organisations, accountants and financial planners. Some of her papers are available here.
Judy works with a varied clientele – she advises international and interstate lawyers and accountants in estate administration issues; elderly and vulnerable Queenslanders in relation to applications before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal for guardianship and administration matters; and provides estate planning advice for “mum’s and dad’s” as well as those listed in the top 10 wealthiest Queenslanders.
Judy has particular experience in assisting executors or next of kin administer deceased estates involving traumatic and/or multiple deaths.
Judy’s calm nature, her specialist knowledge and her discretion means she is often sought out to provide advice to high profile individuals.
Judy was the only Australian representative at The Hague Academy of International Law – Private International Law Summer School in 2006 at The Hague, Netherlands.
